Unison Welfare

At UNISON we are aware of the pressures members face on a daily basis and can provide support at times of unforeseen financial hardship or personal difficulty such as redundancy, bereavement, illness or relationship breakdown. UNISON Welfare is UNISON's registered charity and can provide guidance on the type of help available. Confidential advice is provided by the Durham County Branch's own Welfare Officer Michelle McKenna. Find out more about the range of welfare services on offer, including:

  • Debt Advice
  • Financial Assistance
  • WellBeing Breaks

Support is offered through our team of experienced casework staff at national office and network of branch welfare officers. They are there to listen and help. Confidential advice is available on a range of issues. For example we can help with sorting our your finances, advise on benefits, or put you in touch with another organisation who can help.
